FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. ABOUT THE PHOTOS
1.1 How do I find photos that I might be interested in?
- You can browse through the photos, using the left-hand menu tree to select sets of images that may be of interest to you
- You can click on any of the ‘Popular Search’ words in the left-hand menu, and this will display all of the photos that match that search keyword
- You can search for specific photos. We attempt to add keywords to photos including event names, team names and, where possible, competitor numbers or names – so try a search on some of these, and see what photos are returned.
- If you sign up as a member, you can create and share lightbox links with your friends to show them a set of photos that they may be interested in.
1.2 What format are your photos in?
All SPRINT Photography images are available in an immediately-downloadable JPG format. All photos are high-resolution, large-sized digital images (generally around 3500 x 2500 pixels in size).
1.3 Will a copyright watermark be visible on my purchased image?
No, purchased images will be free from any watermark or visible copyright notices. Watermarks are used on the website to protect SPRINT Photography’s rights and ownership, until a photo is purchased.
1.4 Are your photos edited?
We routinely crop our photos and/or make minor adjustments to colour and contrast. This is to provide you with the best possible photographs. If you purchase a digital image, you are free to make further adjustments to suit your personal preferences.
1.5 Do you add more photos on a regular basis?
Yes - we add photos after every event that we attend. Click on the "Newest Photos" link at the bottom of the title area on the home page to see the latest photos that we have posted.
2. ABOUT PURCHASE AND DOWNLOAD
2.1 How does the purchasing process work?
- Find the photo(s) that you are interested in.
- Open the detailed photo page by clicking on the photo thumbnail, and confirm that the image is suitable for your requirements (i.e. image size, price, etc). From this page, you can also view a larger image preview, or add the photo to a lightbox (if you have signed up for an account).
- Click on the “Add To Cart” icon, to select the photo for purchase.
- Select other photos in the same way, if desired.
- Once you are ready to finalise your purchase, display the Shopping Cart. The ‘View Cart’ link in the middle of the left-hand menu can be used to open the Shopping Cart, if necessary. The selected photos and total price will be displayed.
- Review the Terms of Service Agreement (via the link at the bottom of the Shopping Cart page), which details the Usage rights that are applicable to your purchased photos.
- Click on the ‘Buy Now’ icon at the bottom of the Shopping Cart page. This allows payment via PayPal OR VISA / MasterCard if you do not have a PayPal account.
- Once payment is confirmed, you will be returned to the SPRINT Photography website where you will be able to download your purchased images.
- A confirmation email will be sent to you, which allows you to return to the download page for 14 days in order to download your purchased images.
2.2 When do I receive my photo(s)?
Our photos are available for download immediately upon payment via Paypal (including via VISA / MasterCard). After purchase, you will be automatically transferred to a download page, where you can access your purchased photos. This download page expires after 14 days.
2.3 How do you price your images?
All photos are high-resolution, large-sized digital JPG images (generally around 3500 x 2500 pixels in size). The images are priced according to their rating (which range from Bronze to Platinum):
Bronze $5 each
Silver $12 each
Gold $19 each
Platinum $28 each
2.4 Do you offer refunds?
No - once your purchase is made, we cannot offer a refund. The reason for this policy is that we provide you with a full copy of our digital image - without any further built-in protection for us. As such, there is no way for our products to be returned after they have been purchased.
2.5 Are there any restrictions on my usage of the photos that I buy and download?
Yes, the main restrictions are:
- SPRINT Photography retain the Copyright on all photos, but assign you royalty-free rights for using the image (i.e. you can use the image as often as desired, after paying the one-off up-front licensing fee – but we still own it)
- Digital copyright information must not be altered or removed from images (i.e. digital metadata must remain embedded within the image)
- No resale or redistribution of SPRINT Photography images is permitted
- Transfer of Usage rights is not permitted
- Usage for Commercial purposes (e.g. business websites, business marketing) is only possible after agreement with SPRINT Photography, at additional cost
So – you are free to print out a copy of your photo for your fridge, upload it to Facebook, or use it as a screensaver or background on your computer. You should not forward it to anyone (not even you Mum), or use it for any commercially-related purposes.

3. ABOUT THE WEBSITE
The following additional functionality is available on the SPRINT Photography website:
User accounts / subscriptions
Ratings – Add ratings to photos (requires an account)
Comments – Add comments to photos (requires an account)
Lightbox - This is a “favourites” list of photos, which can be sent as a link to your friends (requires an account)
4. ADDITIONAL SERVICES
The following services are available from SPRINT Photography, at reasonable prices:
- Digital post-processing
If you are interested in some "special effects" to make some of your images stand-out more, digital post-processing can be used to provide unusual photographic appearances. Options include effects like "aged photo", "antique photo", "black & white", "sepia tone", "portrait", "recolour", "soft focus" and more - if you can explain it, we can attempt to produce it!

Cost: Additional $10 per photo - You receive both the "standard" image, plus the post-processed version
- Prints and framing
Arrangements can be made to have images professionally printed in various formats and sizes. This can be arranged by SPRINT Photography on a cost-recovery basis, which will be charged in addition to the applicable image purchase cost.
- Photo shoots - your choice of location and content
